82 Ocean Street, Mount Saint Thomas

Over a 4 year period, Director of Djokic Constructions, Dave took on the massive task of transforming his property into the masterpiece it is today. As you can see from the before picture below, no detail was spared in the recreation of this now stunning piece of property that sits in the quiet suburb of Mount Saint Thomas, Wollongong.

Endless hours have been injected into this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home over the years and whilst a very trying task at times, the workmanship and dedication of all involved, came together to show what can be achieved when the ultimate vision is in sight.

Some key features of this extensive renovation that were carried out by the team include:

  • The installation of a retaining wall – As the home is built on a sloping black, it was necessary that a retaining wall was constructed in the back yard with an extensive drainage system also put in place. This has ensured that rain water is moved effectively around the property and water issues eliminated.

  • Polished concrete bench tops in both the kitchen and outdoor living space were designed, constructed and installed by Djokic Constructions

  • Installation of a premium Vortex Swim Spa in the back pergola area with surrounding deck and bench seating designed to suit

  • The addition of a walk in robe and indoor/outdoor en-suite to the master bedroom, complete with a slatted hardwood feature ceiling peice and hand collected river stones from the Shoalhaven River embedded in the floor

  • The basement of the property was transformed from a single car garage into several functional areas including a 2 car garage, under home storage, a wine cellar aswell as a spacious home office complete with a kitchenette

  • To add yet another quirky feature to the property, the high ceiling space was utilised and transformed into an airy, sunny upstairs loft

  • Refurbished mixed Australian hard wood floors can be found right throughout the entire home

  • Sahara stone was used on both the outdoor retaining wall and on the indoor fire place. This effective stone product whilst extremely tedious and time consuming to install, has really lifted both areas and created the luxurious yet earthy effect the team set out to achieve.

The property went under the hammer in April 2016 with Tonee McComb of Belle Property Wollongong and achieved the record sale of the suburb.
