Farm House, Cassilis

What an absolute pleasure we had in completing these works for our good friends Rick and Beth. When Rick phoned Dave to ask if we'd be interested in the job, he assumed there would be no way we would want to travel 6 hours from home into the middle of nowhere with little phone or internet reception and over an hours drive from the nearest hardware store to peace and quite, wide open spaces and fresh air? Yeah, I know sounds amazing right? Needless to say, we jumped at the opportunity immediately.

We packed up the utes, the caravan, the baby and her 45 bags of 'necessary belongings' and 3 dogs (well 2 and a 1/4 dogs - click through the pics below you'll understand what I mean by a 1/4) and off we ventured to Rick and Beth's property, close to the beautiful country town of Cassilis, in North-East NSW.

You can see from the before picture below, that no effort was spared in the total revamp of the once dilapidated space at the rear of this cute country home.  Before we commenced works, the ground work and slab were uneven and dangerous, the wall linings were damaged beyond repair and the roof structure wasn't up to code, very unstable and unsafe.

The design concept for this makeover came from Beth. Her wants consisted on an additional washroom, a usable laundry with a large sink, extra storage space and an undercover pergola where they can entertain their family and friends. She had a vision in mind from the get go, and through numerous conversations, brainstorming and research, we were able to deliver exactly what she envisaged in both a functional and cost effective way.

The new concrete slab was tinted blue and sealed in Deep Ocean colour to compliment the posts, fascia, gutters and flashing and allow for long lasting wear and tear. We completed the transformation of the stunning pergola structure with custom made decorative finnels, durable powder coated posts with a custom colonial twist, as well as new aluminium windows, sliding door and a frosted laundry door and washroom window to allow for privacy. These features turned out beautifully and really completed the look of the exterior. The interior was finished off with custom joinery, shower screen, concrete laundry sink and washroom basin. All in all, these well thought out features really pooled together and helped us achieve Beth and Ricks vision.

We loved every minute of being in the country, completing these works and being able to give such a deserving couple multiple new spaces in their home that they can be proud of and really enjoy using.
